Mindfulness Group

Mindfulness Process group is a technique drawn from Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR); a treatment created by Jon Kabat Zinn in 1979. It is an awareness that arises through paying attention to thoughts and emotions, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally. Specifically, with individuals struggling with substance use, Mindfulness can be helpful to address difficult thoughts and emotions, and give them less influence over how the individual reacts given new tools, intention, and heightened awareness.
